Brothers accused of rape and blackmail; police issue lookout notice

Mangaluru police have issued a lookout notice for two brothers, Mohammed Shafeen and Mohammed Shiab, accused of rape, blackmail, and theft. The incident reportedly occurred on August 1, with the main accused, Shafeen, fleeing to a foreign country.

According to the victim, her car broke down near Kadri on July 21, where Shafeen offered help by repairing it and dropping her home. During this interaction, he exchanged contact details with her.

On August 1, the woman sought Shafeen’s assistance to fix her refrigerator. He brought a mechanic and later returned with fruit and juice. The victim alleged that she lost consciousness after consuming the juice. Upon regaining consciousness, Shafeen reportedly admitted to sexually assaulting her and showed her a video of the act, threatening to make it viral unless she complied with his demands.

The victim also accused Shafeen of stealing her car and ₹62,000 in cash. Following these events, she filed a police complaint, and authorities have since been working to trace the accused.
