A case has been registered against Dr. Arun Ullal, a teacher, for allegedly inciting communal disharmony through a hate speech. Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal confirmed the registration of the case under Section 66(C) of the IT Act, and Sections 196 and 351 of the BNS at the Mangaluru CEN Crime Station.

The controversy arose after a video featuring Dr. Arun Ullal went viral on social media. In the video, he urged Hindus to use marriage halls owned by fellow Hindus, claiming that Hindus were the largest source of revenue for these venues. He further encouraged Hindus to send their children to schools run by individuals of the same faith, alleging that revenue generated by institutions run by other communities was being sent abroad.
