On October 1, a serious collision between two KSRTC buses occurred near Addahole on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75, close to Gundya village, resulting in injuries to a couple. The accident happened when a bus traveling from Dharmasthala to Bengaluru collided head-on with another bus en route from Bengaluru to Dharmasthala, near the Addahole petrol station.

Both buses sustained significant damage in the crash. The injured couple, identified as Nagendra Prasad (60) and Bharathi (54) from Hassan, were traveling on the Bengaluru-bound bus. They were promptly taken to Sakleshpur Government Hospital for medical treatment via a Shiradi 108 ambulance.

This incident marks the third accident involving KSRTC buses in the Gundya area within a two-week span. Local residents expressed their frustration, attributing the frequent accidents to reckless speeding by bus drivers along the highway. The Nelady outpost police arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure safety.
