Mangaluru: In the first-ever elections to the Kadaba town panchayat, Congress registered a decisive victory, winning eight of the 13 seats.

Puttur MLA Ashok Rai attributed the win to the state government’s five key guarantee schemes, which, he claimed, have benefited every household. “Congress delivers on its promises and wins people’s trust through action, not empty words,” he said, thanking voters for their support.

Rai emphasized that funds have been allocated for development across all constituencies, including Dakshina Kannada, without political bias. “Voters now recognize which party stands by the poor and ensures a peaceful life. The results reflect this awareness,” he added, predicting Congress success in future elections, including a return to power in 2028.

Congress and BJP contested all 13 wards, while SDPI fielded candidates in three, the Muslim League in one, and independents in two wards. Of 8,336 registered voters, 6,674 cast their ballots, marking a strong turnout.
