Bantwal, Jun 27: A container truck traveling from Bengaluru encountered a mishap when it got stuck at a sharp turn in Allipade near Aneja on the Uppinangady-Sarapadi-Manihalla road.
The truck, which originated from Bijapur, relied on Google Maps for navigation from Uppinangady to Mangaluru. Due to ongoing highway construction, the app redirected the driver to the Uppinangady-Ajilamogaru-Manihalla road, which is unsuitable for heavy vehicles. At the bend in Aneja, the truck’s length prevented it from negotiating the turn smoothly, necessitating multiple forward and reverse maneuvers before becoming lodged.
As a result of the incident, buses traveling on the Sarapadi-B C Road had to seek alternative routes, causing inconvenience to residents of Sarapadi and Maninalkooru.
