Mangaluru: A court in Mangaluru has granted anticipatory bail to the chairman and three members of Infinity Learning Foundation, based in Guruvayanakere of Belthangady taluk, in connection with a forgery case related to alleged submission of fake documents.
The order was passed by the Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, V.N. Jagadeesh, on Thursday, offering relief to the accused while the investigation continues.
Bail granted with conditions
The court granted anticipatory bail to the foundation’s chairman B. Sumanth Kumar Jain, along with members B. Sahana Jain, Satish Kumar Jain, and Shubhalatha.
As per the court’s direction, all four accused will be released on bail in the event of their arrest upon executing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each.
The court has imposed several conditions, including full cooperation with the investigation, not tampering with prosecution witnesses, refraining from involvement in similar offences, and ensuring regular appearance before the jurisdictional court.
Allegations of forged fire safety clearance
The case stems from a complaint filed on March 6 at the Belthangady Police Station by Deputy Director of Public Instruction (Administration) G.S. Shashidhara.
According to the complaint, the Infinity Learning Foundation had submitted a proposal on June 27, 2025, through the department’s online portal seeking permission for Excel Techno School in Guruvayanakere to operate classes from pre-primary to Class 10.
During scrutiny of the application, officials reportedly found that the institution had not secured a valid building fire safety clearance. It is alleged that the foundation submitted a forged document claiming to have obtained the required approval.
Case registered under BNS
Based on the complaint, the Belthangady police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with offences including forgery and submission of false documents.
Authorities have initiated further investigation to verify the authenticity of the documents submitted and to determine the extent of the alleged irregularities.
Investigation underway
Police sources indicated that the investigation is currently in progress, and officials are examining records and documents related to the school’s application process.
The case has drawn attention to the importance of compliance with safety regulations, particularly in educational institutions where student welfare is a primary concern.
Conclusion
While the court has granted anticipatory bail to the accused, the case highlights serious concerns regarding the submission of forged documents for institutional approvals. The outcome of the investigation will be crucial in determining accountability and ensuring that regulatory norms are strictly followed in the education sector.
