Mangaluru: Aesthetic and preventive wellness brand Dolce Estetica has expanded its presence to Mangaluru with the launch of its fourth centre at Vishwageetha Complex on Airport Road, Padavinangady.

The new centre follows the brand’s existing facilities in Cherthala, Kochi and Kozhikode. The Mangaluru centre will focus on preventive wellness, longevity care, metabolic health and aesthetic medicine, targeting growing interest in proactive health management among local residents and the city’s NRI population.

Focus on preventive health and longevity

Speaking at the launch, Dr Joseph Thomas, Founder, CEO and Aesthetic Physician at Dolce Estetica, said the centre’s approach goes beyond treating health concerns after they emerge.

“Health is not merely something to be addressed after an illness occurs; it can be actively managed through predetermined clinical actions,” he said, adding that longevity should focus not only on extending lifespan but also on maintaining vitality and quality of life.

According to the organisation, the centre is designed to assess potential metabolic, hormonal and genetic risk factors before they develop into chronic conditions.

Patients may undergo assessments such as body composition analysis, genomic evaluation and hormonal profiling. The clinic said these assessments are intended to identify underlying concerns, including insulin resistance and arterial risks, which can sometimes manifest through visible changes such as skin pigmentation or premature ageing.

International protocols adapted for Indian patients

Dolce Estetica said its clinical protocols are aligned with European and UK medical standards through its registered international entity, while diagnostic and treatment approaches are adapted to Indian demographics.

Dr Akshat, Head of Clinic Operations in Mangaluru, said differences in skin types, metabolic rates and genetic profiles make it important to tailor clinical parameters to Indian patients.

“While our equipment and procedural standards meet international benchmarks, our diagnostic thresholds and treatment plans are tailored specifically for Indian demographics,” he said.

The centre’s advisory panel includes specialists from fields such as cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, genetics and Ayurveda. The panel is intended to provide peer review and specialist inputs in complex cases.

Doctors caution against online self-diagnosis

The clinical team also raised concerns over the increasing dependence on artificial intelligence platforms and unverified online sources for health-related advice.

Dr Akshat cautioned against self-medication based on online searches, noting that digital platforms may present information without the clinical context required to interpret individual symptoms.

He said algorithm-generated information can sometimes create unnecessary anxiety around normal physiological conditions and stressed the importance of professional clinical assessment before taking medical decisions.

Company outlines expansion model

Dolce Estetica’s Chief Operating Officer George Mathew said the organisation’s expansion is supported by Company-Owned, Company-Operated (COCO) and Franchise-Owned, Company-Operated (FOCO) models.

He said the structure is intended to maintain clinical standard operating procedures while reducing administrative and operational responsibilities for doctors and investors.

The organisation also offers co-investment opportunities, including fractional ownership structures, allowing physicians and NRI investors to participate across multiple centres while operations remain centrally managed.

The Mangaluru centre is now operational and offers consultations in aesthetic medicine, metabolic wellness and long-term health planning.
