Mangaluru: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) is all set to roll out its flagship theme for the year—‘Elevate Brand Mangaluru’—on August 23. The initiative is designed to project the city’s strengths to a global audience, positioning it as a hub for commerce, culture, and tourism.
Speaking to the media, KCCI president Anand G Pai said Mangaluru’s strategic location, thriving industries, diverse traditions, and warm hospitality give it the edge to secure recognition on the world map. The effort, he emphasized, is about showcasing the city authentically while drawing attention to its achievements in trade, recreation, sports, cuisine, and heritage.
The event will be inaugurated at the Avatar Convention Centre in the presence of Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta and Assembly Speaker UT Khader. KCCI envisions the initiative as a collaborative journey where creators, industry leaders, government bodies, and citizens join forces to strengthen the city’s identity.
Athmika Amin, director and chairperson of the project, announced that a creators’ meet will be hosted at the KCCI meeting hall on August 20. To further the campaign, a podcast series featuring entrepreneurs, professionals, artists, and community leaders will soon be launched, covering themes from technology and business to cuisine, sports, and culture.
Additionally, detailed and pocket-sized tourism brochures will be published, highlighting Mangaluru’s landmarks, cultural richness, culinary diversity, and hidden attractions. Plans also include introducing a curated line of souvenirs inspired by the city’s culture and natural beauty, to be made available at airports, hotels, and retail outlets.
“This initiative will not only enhance Mangaluru’s brand value but also create new opportunities for local artisans and entrepreneurs,” Athmika added.
