Sulya: The Fifth Additional Sessions Court in Puttur has granted conditional bail to two accused in the murder case of Fathima Nishan, whose death near Kadepal had initially raised suspicion.

Sulya police had arrested Fathima’s father-in-law Alavi, mother-in-law Aisha and sister-in-law Faseela on allegations that they assaulted and killed her on the night of July 18. Following their arrest, the three accused were produced before the Senior Civil Judge and JMFC Court in Sulya and remanded to judicial custody.

Bail petition filed before Sessions Court

Aisha and Faseela subsequently sought bail through a petition filed before the Fifth Additional Sessions Court in Puttur.

After hearing the arguments, the court allowed the bail petition and granted conditional bail to both accused.

The court’s decision provides temporary relief to the two accused while the criminal proceedings in the case continue.

Three family members arrested

The case came to light following the death of Fathima Nishan near Kadepal. The circumstances surrounding her death had initially raised suspicion, prompting the Sulya police to investigate the incident.

During the course of the investigation, police arrested three members of Fathima’s in-laws’ family — Alavi, Aisha and Faseela — on allegations of assaulting her and causing her death.

The accused were later produced before the jurisdictional court and sent to judicial custody as the investigation proceeded.

Defence team represents accused

The investigation and subsequent legal proceedings will determine the facts and circumstances surrounding Fathima Nishan’s death.
