Mangalore Students and Teachers Chosen for 78th Independence Day in Delhi

Mangaluru: Four students and four teachers from various schools across Karnataka, including Mangalore, have been selected to participate in the 78th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi. Among them are Purvi U., an eighth-grade student from Kuvempu Centenary Elevated Model School, and her teacher Shweta K.

Purvi, who lives in Shakti Nagar’s labor colony, was recognized for her exceptional performance in both academics and extracurricular activities. Her inclusion, along with Shweta K., highlights the remarkable achievements of Mangalore’s educational institutions.

The event will also feature representatives from Kalaburagi, Bangalore, Belgaum, and Mysore, showcasing talents from across the state. Additionally, six women panchayat presidents, including Nefisa from Peruvayi Gram Panchayat, will attend as special guests, honoring their significant contributions to community development.

Purvi expressed her excitement about the honor of attending the event and the opportunity to see dignitaries such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. Dakshayini, the headteacher of Kuvempu Centenary Elevated Model School, praised Purvi’s selection as a significant achievement for the school, underscoring their progress on a national stage.
