Mangaluru: The Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra in Kudroli, under the leadership of former Union finance minister B Janardhana Poojary, has issued guidelines and a detailed schedule for the grand Mangaluru Dasara 2026 procession on October 21.

The temple committee has instructed all participating tableaux and costume teams to adhere strictly to the prescribed timings and arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual procession. The procession is scheduled to commence at exactly 4 pm.

Participants have been asked to assemble at their designated locations on time and remain prepared according to their assigned serial numbers. The committee has also specified the distance to be maintained between tableaux to ensure orderly movement along the procession route.

Procession to commence at 4 pm

According to the guidelines issued by the temple authorities, the Mangaluru Dasara procession will begin at 4 pm on Wednesday, October 21. All tableaux and costume teams must be ready at their respective starting points at the stipulated time.

The committee has directed participants to follow the sequence allotted to them and avoid delays that could affect the movement of the procession. Each team is expected to coordinate with the temple’s procession supervisors and comply with the arrangements made for the event.

To maintain discipline and ensure sufficient space between participating tableaux, a maximum distance of 20 metres must be maintained between each tableau. The instruction is intended to facilitate the orderly movement of the procession and help officials manage the large gathering expected along the route.

The temple authorities have emphasised that cooperation among the participating teams will be essential to maintaining the schedule throughout the event.

Sharada Matha idol movement schedule announced

The temple committee has also announced specific timings for the movement of the Goddess Sharada Matha idol through key locations along the procession route.

According to the schedule, the idol is expected to reach the following locations:

  • 9 pm: Narayana Guru Circle
  • 10 pm: Saibeen Complex
  • 11 pm: PVS
  • 12 midnight: Hampankatta

The timings provide a schedule for the procession’s progress through important parts of the city. Participants and the public have been urged to cooperate with the arrangements and follow instructions issued by the authorities during the procession.

The movement of the idol through these locations is expected to draw devotees and spectators who gather to witness the religious and cultural celebrations associated with Mangaluru Dasara.

The committee has called on all participating teams to remain mindful of the schedule and coordinate with officials to avoid unnecessary interruptions along the route.

Participants directed to follow police instructions

The temple committee has instructed all participants to strictly follow directions issued by police personnel, temple staff and the procession supervisors appointed by the authorities.

The guidelines are intended to ensure discipline among the participating groups and facilitate the smooth movement of the procession through the city. Participants have been asked to cooperate with officials responsible for managing the event and comply with instructions at designated points along the route.

The committee has also appealed to the public to extend their cooperation to the organisers and participants. Adherence to the prescribed timings, sequence and distance between tableaux is expected to help the procession proceed in an orderly manner.

Given the scale of the annual celebrations, coordination between the temple authorities, police personnel, participating teams and spectators remains important for the successful conduct of the event.

Mangaluru Dasara’s message of community pride
