Mangaluru: The patriotic spirit is spreading across Mangaluru as the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) joins the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day, with national flags proudly displayed across the Port’s residential colony.
The campaign, being observed from August 9 to 17, has brought employees and their families together to celebrate the Tricolour and express their pride in the nation.
Tricolour adds colour to Mangaluru’s port community
Following directions from the Ministry, NMPA has hoisted the National Flag at employee quarters in its residential colony in Mangaluru.
The display of flags across the colony has created a vibrant patriotic atmosphere and turned the Port’s residential area into a visible part of the city’s Independence Day celebrations.
The initiative also aims to encourage employees and their families to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and make the National Flag a symbol of unity within the community.
NMPA plans celebrations for employees and families
Several activities have been planned at NMPA as part of the celebrations. These include a departmental quiz, Vande Mataram singing, collective singing of Vande Mataram and selfie-with-Tiranga activities.
The programmes are expected to bring employees and their families together while providing an opportunity for the younger generation to connect with the values represented by the National Flag.
Mangaluru gets into Independence Day spirit
The NMPA initiative adds to the patriotic atmosphere in Mangaluru as the city prepares to celebrate Independence Day.
From the Port’s residential colony to homes and public spaces across the city, the Tricolour is becoming a prominent symbol of the celebrations.
For the NMPA community, the campaign is not merely about displaying flags but about coming together as families and colleagues to celebrate India’s freedom, unity and shared national identity.
As the celebrations continue until August 17, the message from Mangaluru’s Port community remains clear: let the Tricolour fly high in every heart and every home
