Mangaluru: Mangaluru International Airport has set a new benchmark for passenger traffic and air movements, achieving its highest-ever performance for the fiscal year 2024-25.
In October 2024, the airport handled 202,892 passengers, with 138,902 domestic travelers and 63,990 international passengers. This translates to an impressive average of 6,500 passengers daily, marking a significant increase from September 2024’s 189,247 passengers and surpassing the previous high of 199,818 recorded in August 2024.
The airport also handled 1,538 air traffic movements (ATMs), including 1,091 domestic flights, 403 international flights, and 44 general aviation movements, showcasing its growing operational capacity and efficiency.
Strategically located on India’s western coast, Mangaluru International Airport has become an essential hub in the nation’s aviation network, connecting the region to domestic and international destinations. The airport’s infrastructure upgrades, operational improvements, and focus on passenger experience have been key to its growth.
A spokesperson from the airport emphasized that these record numbers reflect the airport’s commitment to excellence and its crucial role in facilitating both business and leisure travel in Karnataka’s coastal region.
