Speaking at a general meeting of the MCC council chaired by Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur on Saturday, the MLA stressed the importance of scientifically examining natural water flow in construction areas.

Shetty highlighted the lack of coordination between MUDA and MCC TPOs and pointed out that natural water flow and stormwater drains are often overlooked in site approvals. He called for a scientific discussion to address these issues and prevent disasters caused by unscientific land development.

The MLA also mentioned that nearly Rs 100 crore was granted to the MCC during the previous BJP government’s tenure and urged Congress corporators to secure more funds for the city.

The meeting saw objections and commotion from Congress corporators regarding the MLA’s remarks. Additionally, MLC Ivan D’Souza was felicitated for his second term in the legislative council and urged corporators and MLAs to work together for the city’s development.
