Assembly Speaker UT Khader has announced that the upcoming State Games 2025, set to unfold across Mangaluru and Udupi, will spotlight Tulunadu’s rich cultural traditions. The games, hosted by the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department alongside the Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA), will see 3,247 athletes competing in 25 disciplines. Dakshina Kannada and Udupi administrations are tasked with ensuring top-tier arrangements for food, lodging, and transportation.

KOA President K Govindaraj highlighted the state government’s allocation of ₹5 crore for the event, aiming to nurture regional sports talent and pave pathways to national and international platforms.

Sports like badminton, basketball, and swimming will be hosted in Mangaluru, while Udupi will feature events such as athletics and boxing. Manipal will host table tennis and lawn tennis, with Bengaluru organizing gymnastics and shooting. A total of 631 gold, 631 silver, and 827 bronze medals are up for grabs in both men’s and women’s categories.

Citizens of coastal Karnataka have been urged to contribute to the success of this grand sporting showcase.
