Dr Elroy Saldanha introduced the medical camp and explained the services offered to the public. He also spoke about common health conditions affecting people and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

The medical camp was organised as a community outreach initiative, enabling residents of the Byndoor region to access basic health consultation and awareness services.

Founder customers honoured

A special highlight of the programme was the ceremonial cake-cutting by ten founder customers of the Byndoor Branch, representing the wider customer community.

The founder customers were felicitated by Chairman Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo in recognition of their trust and support since the inception of the branch. Their patronage played a vital role in enabling the branch to reach the ₹10 crore business milestone within a short span of six months.

The Chairman expressed gratitude to the customers on behalf of the entire bank and acknowledged their contribution to the branch’s rapid growth.

Chairman highlights bank’s growth

In his presidential address, Chairman Anil Lobo described the achievement as a historic milestone for MCC Bank.

He recalled that when the Byndoor branch was inaugurated, some people had expressed doubts about its success. However, the large gathering during the inauguration itself reflected strong public support, which eventually translated into steady business growth.

He thanked the people of Byndoor for their support in helping the branch reach the ₹10 crore turnover milestone in such a short period.

The Chairman further stated that MCC Bank has been progressing steadily under the present management. When the current management took charge in 2018, the bank’s overall turnover crossed ₹1,500 crore within seven years.

He added that the bank plans to introduce additional services similar to those available in nationalised banks, particularly enhanced digital banking facilities, and requested continued support from customers as the bank expands across Karnataka.

Messages on women empowerment

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, women customers of the Byndoor Branch were honoured with a shawl, gift and rose by the Chairman in recognition of their contribution to the growth of the branch.

Women staff members who attended the programme were also felicitated.

Anil Lobo noted that women today are playing a vital role in every sector and are increasingly taking up leadership positions. He emphasised that while leadership brings challenges, a positive approach enables success.

Dignitaries appreciate bank’s initiative

In his keynote address, Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho congratulated the bank on achieving the ₹10 crore milestone within a short time.

He stated that the success reflected the trust and commitment shown by customers and the people of the Byndoor region, as well as the bank’s adherence to sound banking practices.

He noted that MCC Bank currently operates 21 branches across Karnataka, offering modern banking services and customer-friendly facilities similar to nationalised banks.

He also appreciated the bank for organising a free medical camp for the public instead of holding a purely ceremonial celebration, describing it as a meaningful service initiative.

Community participation

The programme began with a prayer song rendered by bank staff Manoj Lopes and singer Treeza Lopez, followed by a documentary presentation highlighting the journey and progress of MCC Bank under its current management.

Branch Support Director Elroy K. Crasto welcomed the gathering, while Ovin Rebello, Branch Manager of Brahmavar Branch, compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.

As a token of appreciation, Chairman Anil Lobo presented mementos to the dignitaries for their presence and guidance.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from customers, well-wishers and members of the local community, making it a memorable celebration of the branch’s achievement and its commitment to community service.
