Pharma Rally in Mangaluru Highlights Drug Abuse Awareness

Mangaluru: As part of Pharmacy Week 2024-25, a rally themed “Drug Abuse” was organized on January 23 by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada District local branch, in collaboration with Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangaluru.

The rally was flagged off by T.P. Sujith, Deputy Drugs Controller, Mangaluru. Also present was Arun Kumar Shetty, President of the South Kanara District Chemists and Druggists Association (SKDCDA).

Dr. A.R. Shabaraya, convener of Pharmacy Week and President of IPA Mangaluru, who also serves as Principal of Srinivas College of Pharmacy, and Dr. E.V.S. Subrahmanyam, Professor at the college and Vice President of IPA Dakshina Kannada, joined the event alongside faculty members.

Over 600 students enthusiastically participated, carrying placards with impactful slogans aimed at combating drug abuse. The students also distributed informative leaflets to the public, spreading awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.

The rally served as a strong message against drug abuse, emphasizing the role of pharmacists and young minds in creating a healthier society.
