Puttur: In an unusual and heart-wrenching plea, a family in Puttur has expressed their despair over what they describe as a “love jihad” case, leaving their daughter’s life in disarray. During the counting of offerings at Sri Mahalingeshwara Deva temple, a note of complaint was discovered, reportedly left by the distraught parents in the temple’s hundi.
The message, attributed to the parents, alleges that a man named Sameer “ruined” their daughter’s life, leaving her and the family in severe distress. They stated in the note that they now find themselves “on the street,” blaming Sameer for the situation and praying for divine intervention.
“Sameer has destroyed our lives. He shouldn’t get a girl to marry,” the note read, reflecting the anguish and frustration of the family.
Temple authorities were surprised by the unusual form of complaint and expressed empathy for the family’s distress. The incident has since sparked conversations about community support, with local groups extending offers to assist the affected family.
