
Srikanth Poojary to Represent Karnataka at Delhi I-Day Event
Puttur– Srikanth Poojary Biravu, a youth leader from Puttur taluk in Dakshina Kannada, has been chosen as Karnataka’s representative for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in Delhi under the Government of India’s ‘My Bharat’ initiative.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through Nehru Yuva Kendra, New Delhi, selects youth ambassadors aged 15–28 from each state. This year, Srikanth will proudly serve as Karnataka’s youth ambassador, confirmed district youth officer Ullas and administrative officer Jagadeesh.
Srikanth has been a dynamic force in youth empowerment. As a trainer, he has led over 500 programmes across Karnataka, reaching around 90,000 youngsters with sessions on life skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, and career development. He has also organised 13 job fairs in the region, aiding many youths in finding employment.
He has taken up awareness campaigns on pressing social issues like social media dependency and substance abuse, visiting several villages. Srikanth has coordinated both central and state-level youth schemes locally.
On the global stage, Srikanth has worked as a life skills and entrepreneurship trainer with UNDP, and also collaborated with UNICEF and NIMHANS as a career and mental wellness educator. His literary contributions include poetry, articles, and participation in literary gatherings.
In recognition, he has earned awards like the State Excellence Award in Life Skills, Swami Vivekananda Sadbhavana Award, Sadhana Shree, and Sahitya Saraswati.
Srikanth completed his schooling in Ragi Kumari, pursued pre-university at Kombettu, and graduated from Vivekananda College, Puttur. He holds a Master’s in Economics from Mangalore University.
He will now represent Karnataka at the national Independence Day event in Delhi on August 15.
