Mangaluru: Marking World Oral Health Day, Yenepoya Dental College organized an engaging street play to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and preventive dental care.

The street play aimed to educate the public on the significance of oral hygiene and its direct impact on overall health. Through a creative and interactive performance, students effectively conveyed key messages on preventing dental diseases and adopting healthy habits.

Experts highlight importance of oral health

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Vinita Boloor, Head of the Department, who emphasized the role of community outreach initiatives in promoting dental health awareness.

The Principal of the institution addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of oral health and detailing the various treatment facilities and patient care services available at the college.

Dean Dr. Sham S. Bhat also spoke on the occasion, stressing the strong link between oral health and overall well-being, and encouraging the public to adopt proper hygiene practices for a healthier lifestyle.

Faculty participation and public engagement

Faculty members from the Department of Periodontology and other departments actively participated in the initiative, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to community health education.

Free samples and educational materials distributed

As part of the awareness drive, free samples and informational pamphlets were distributed to the public, reinforcing the importance of preventive care and regular dental check-ups.
