Belthangady: In relation to the gang rape of a young girl that led to her pregnancy, Belthangady Police have detained three people, one of whom is a child. Following a May 31 report on the case, the Belthangady Police Station filed charges under the POCSO Act and the Gang Rape Act.
The Moodbidire-born suspects, Muhammad Iksal (26), Farooq (19), and the young kid, were taken into custody by Belthangady police on June 1. The little kid was brought before the Mangaluru Juvenile Court and then placed in the Mangaluru remand home, while the adult accused were remanded to judicial custody by the Belthangady court.
Six months pregnant, the victim who reported the crime is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
