In a harrowing incident on Saturday, a labourer from Kerala narrowly escaped a grave mishap while filling mud around the rings of a well near Addathodu in Panja. The labourer became trapped under collapsing mud up to his shoulders, prompting immediate action from those present at the site.
Witnesses acted swiftly, clearing the mud manually and utilizing heavy machinery, including a JCB, to extricate the labourer from the perilous situation. The rapid response prevented further entrapment and ensured the safety of the labourer, who was subsequently rushed to Sullia hospital for medical attention.
Fortunately, due to the prompt rescue efforts, the labourer is now reported to be out of danger. The incident underscores the risks associated with construction and manual labour, highlighting the importance of stringent safety measures on worksites.
