Tourist bus accident in Karnataka leaves 15 injured

A tourist bus carrying 55 passengers from Mangaluru to Jog Falls overturned on a sharp bend near Kargal along Aralagodu Road in Sagar Taluk, Shivamogga district, Karnataka. The accident, which took place on Saturday, left more than 15 people injured, causing widespread panic. The bus lost control while navigating a steep curve and dramatically overturned. Local residents and first responders quickly arrived at the scene, rescuing the injured and transporting them to nearby hospitals in Kargal and Sagar. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities reported. The passengers were reportedly en route to the popular tourist destination of Jog Falls. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, which could involve driver error or road conditions.

In another tragic incident in Kerala’s Palakkad district, four school students lost their lives, and one was injured when a lorry loaded with cement ran over them in Kalladikkode. The lorry, headed for Mannarkkad, struck the students, and the injured were rushed to the hospital. Details about the incident are still awaited.

Meanwhile, in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, a separate tragedy occurred when four Class 9 students from Morarji Desai Residential School drowned at Murudeshwar Beach during an educational trip. Ignoring lifeguards’ warnings, the students ventured into rough seas, and strong currents swept three of them away. One student died at the scene, while the other three were rescued and are recovering in the hospital.
