Traffic Advisory For Official Visit Of Karnataka Governor And Chief Minister To Mangaluru

In anticipation of the visit of Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to Mangaluru on May 25th and 26th, the following traffic arrangements and restrictions are implemented:

  • Event Venue: The programme will be held at T M A Pai convention hall on M G Road, potentially leading to traffic congestion in nearby areas.
  • Road Closures: Medians from Navabharat Circle to Ladyhill Circle via PVS (including Besant Junction, Kodialguthu Cross, Ballal Bagh Junction, Nehru Avenue Junction) will be blocked. Alternative routes are advised for vehicles.
  • High Congestion Areas: Traffic congestion is anticipated at various locations in the city including Kottara Chowki, KUntikana, KPT, Nanthoor, KSRTC, Bunts Hostel, Dr Ambedkar Circle, Horticulture Junction, Balmatta, Hampankatte, Karavali Circle, Kankanady, Pumpwell, and Thokkottu.

Alternative Traffic Routes:

  • Vehicles heading towards Lady Hill Circle from Hampankatta via Bunts Hostel should divert through Karangalpady or Bharath Beedi junction.
  • Motorists using roads adjoining M G Road from PVS Junction to Ladyhill Circle should opt for Bejai Church Road or Kudroli Road.

Alternative Bus Routes:

  • City, express, and KSRTC buses on K S Rao Road, M G Road, and Bunts Hostel route should pass through Hampankatta, Dr Ambedkar Circle, Balmatta, Horticulture Junction, Kadri Junction, and Nanthoor.
  • Buses destined for State Bank via Kottara Chowki should take the route through Nanthoor.
  • KSRTC buses entering and leaving the KSRTC bus stand should utilize Kuntikan Junction on the national highway.

Parking Restrictions:

  • Parking is prohibited from PVS junction to Lalbagh on M G Road, from PVS Junction to Bunts Hostel, and from Lalbagh Junction to KPT Junction on both sides of the road.

These measures are enacted to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the official visit.
