Traffic Advisory Issued for Mangaluru, Check Alternative Routes

Mangaluru: In view  of the Governor, Chief Minister, and other VVIPs’ visit to the city on May 25 and May 26, where they are scheduled to participate in a program organized at the TMA Pai Hall on MG Road located between  PVS and Lal Bagh Junction, potential traffic congestion may arise due to VVIP movement.  To mitigate this, it is necessary to close all medians from Nava Bharat Circle to Ladyhill Circle via PVS (Basent Junction, Kodiyal Guttu Cross, Ballalbagh Junction, Nehru Avenue Junction). Commuters utilizing this route are advised to seek alternate routes to reach their destinations, said Mangaluru police in a traffic advisory.

Areas expected to experience traffic congestion include: Kottarchouki, Kuntikan, KPT, Nantur, KSRTC, Bunts Hostel, Dr. Ambedkar Circle, Horticulture Junction, Balmath, Hampankatte, Karavali Circle, Kankanady, Pumpwell, and Thokkotu.

Arrangements for alternative routes are as follows:

  • Vehicles traveling from Hampankatta to Ladyhill via Bunts Hostel should take the route through Karangalapady or Bharatbeedi Junction.
  • Vehicles using all connecting roads to MG Road from PVS Junction to Ladyhill Circle should utilize Bejai Church Road/Kudroli Road.

Designated routes for buses:

  • All buses, including city buses, express buses, and KSRTC buses traveling via KS Rao Road, MG Road, Bunts Hostel should divert via Hampankatta, Dr. Ambedkar Circle, Balmath, Horticulture Junction, Kadri Junction, and Nantur.
  • City buses, express, and KSRTC buses going from Kottarchouki to State Bank should proceed via Nantur.
  • All KSRTC buses entering and leaving KSRTC Bus Stand should utilize the National Highway’s Kuntikan Junction.

No Parking Zones:

  • MG Road from PVS Junction to Lalbagh Junction.
  • PVS Junction to Bunts Hostel Junction.
  • Both sides of the road from Lalbagh Junction to KPT Junction.
