A 27-year-old man, Kaushik, lost his life on Friday after battling for days in intensive care at a private hospital in Mangaluru. He had suffered grievous injuries in a violent stabbing incident near Yeyyadi on June 6.
Kaushik was reportedly assaulted with knives, sustaining deep wounds to his abdomen and chest. The alleged assailants, identified as Ganesh and Brijesh Shetty, both residents of Bejai, are believed to have attacked him due to an ongoing personal dispute.
Authorities revealed that the confrontation began as a verbal clash inside a bar close to Yeyyadi. Matters escalated quickly, leading to a vicious assault in broad daylight. Sources also confirmed that Brijesh Shetty had previously been involved in a physical altercation with Kaushik, suggesting a longstanding grudge.
Immediately after the incident, Kaushik was transported to a nearby private medical facility where doctors attempted to stabilize him. Despite their efforts and several days in the ICU, his condition worsened, and he was pronounced dead on June 14.
The Kadri Police had registered a case soon after the attack and are currently pursuing a thorough investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the crime. Further inquiries are ongoing, and the accused are expected to face strict legal action.
This tragic event has once again highlighted the dangers of unresolved feuds and the consequences of violent retaliation.
