Following strong winds and torrential rain on Wednesday, a woman at Kulkunda Basavanamoole near Subrahmanya perished when a tree fell on her.
The woman had left to get the calf.
Meenakshi, 67, is the deceased, according to the police.
She had gone to retrieve a calf she had tied for grazing on the plantation. She was killed and suffered injuries when a large tree fell on her.
