Puttur: Two people were killed and several others injured in a series of accidents involving an Activa scooter, a Bolero SUV, and an Alto car on Sunday near Shekhamale in Dakshina Kannada district.
The accident occurred when the Alto car, traveling from Mangaluru to Madikeri, reportedly lost control and collided with the Activa scooter coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision sent the Alto car veering into the Bolero SUV that was ahead of it.
Lokesh and Ravindra, who were identified as residents of Somwarpet, Madikeri, and occupants of the Alto car, died on the spot due to the impact of the crash. The rider of the Activa scooter sustained minor injuries, while those in the Bolero SUV escaped with minor wounds.
The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Puttur for medical treatment.
The Puttur Rural Police visited the scene of the accident and are currently investigating the cause.
