Warning against attempts to disturb peace

In a statement, Mr. Khader said that people of all religions have been living in harmonious coexistence in Ullal for decades. He cautioned that any attempt to disturb communal harmony through provocative or threatening messages must be dealt with seriously.

“Ullal is known for its unity in diversity. No one should be allowed to spread fear or disrupt peace through irresponsible social media posts,” he said.

He urged the police department to remain alert and vigilant against individuals or groups who misuse digital platforms to incite tension. According to him, strict legal action should be initiated against those found guilty of spreading such threats.

Talks held with police officials

The Speaker confirmed that he had personally discussed the issue with the city Police Commissioner and sought an update on the investigation. He stressed the importance of swift action not only to prevent law and order issues but also to reassure the public.

Police sources indicated that efforts are underway to trace the origin of the threatening post. Cybercrime experts are analysing digital footprints and tracking the account used to circulate the message.

Authorities have also appealed to the public not to forward or amplify unverified content that could create unnecessary panic. They reiterated that spreading false information or threats on social media is a punishable offence under relevant provisions of the law.

Appeal for public cooperation

Mr. Khader called upon citizens to exercise restraint and not react to rumours. He said that maintaining communal harmony is a shared responsibility and urged community leaders to continue fostering dialogue and understanding among different religious groups.

He also emphasised the need for digital responsibility, especially at a time when misinformation can spread rapidly and escalate tensions.

Local residents have expressed concern over the threatening message but welcomed the Speaker’s assurance that strict action would be taken. Community representatives said Ullal has historically maintained peace and mutual respect among its diverse population.

Commitment to maintaining law and order

Police officials have intensified surveillance in sensitive areas as a precautionary measure. They have assured that there is no immediate threat and that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure public safety.

The incident has once again highlighted the growing misuse of social media platforms for spreading fear and misinformation. Law enforcement agencies have been stepping up efforts to monitor and curb such activities.

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Khader said that the government will not tolerate any attempt to disturb communal harmony and that exemplary action will be taken once the culprit is identified.

As the investigation continues, authorities have urged residents to remain calm and trust the police to handle the matter effectively, reinforcing Ullal’s longstanding tradition of peaceful coexistence.
