A tragic accident on Tuesday evening claimed the life of videographer Chethan Kumar, after a collision between the motorcycle he was riding and an autorickshaw. The incident occurred on the Mani-Mysuru National Highway, near Mura in Kabaka village, Puttur taluk.
According to the police, the complainant, Nikith S, reported that the autorickshaw, driven by Mohammed Taufiq, was traveling from Puttur to Kabaka. Allegedly, Taufiq was driving recklessly and negligently when he collided with the motorcycle, which had Chethan and a 10-year-old boy, Manish, as passengers. The impact of the crash threw both Chethan and Manish onto the road along with the motorcycle.
Chethan sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Both Manish and Taufiq also suffered injuries and are currently receiving medical care at a private hospital. A case has been filed at the Puttur Traffic police station, and an investigation is underway.
