Mangaluru: A Yoga & Naturopathy Workshop Programme for the Management of Obesity was successfully organised at EMD, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital by Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences College and Ministry of AYUSH Hospital, in association with the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy.
The workshop formed part of a comprehensive intervention programme aimed at promoting holistic and natural approaches to obesity management.

Focus on Holistic Lifestyle Intervention
The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Mukthar, Head of the Department of General Medicine, who highlighted the growing burden of lifestyle disorders and the importance of integrative healthcare approaches.
The workshop emphasised lifestyle modification, therapeutic yoga practices, naturopathy treatments, scientific dietary guidance, and preventive healthcare strategies. The initiative aimed to educate participants on sustainable and natural methods for weight management.

Expert Sessions and Practical Guidance
The resource persons for the workshop included Dr. Soumya Mahesh Pandith, Dr. Padmashree Rao, Dr. Abhijna, and Dr. Ajith. They delivered detailed sessions on:
- Core principles of naturopathy
- Therapeutic yoga modules for obesity
- Diet interventions and nutritional planning
- Lifestyle correction strategies for long-term weight management
Participants received both theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations to support effective implementation.
Strong Participation and Positive Feedback
Approximately 120 participants attended the workshop and actively engaged in the sessions. As part of the holistic experience, healthy naturopathy-based meals were served for lunch and evening refreshments.
The programme concluded on a positive note, with participants appreciating the practical insights and reinforcing the role of Yoga and Naturopathy in combating obesity and other lifestyle-related disorders through safe, natural, and sustainable methods.
