
Young Girl Honored for Heroic Rescue of Her Mother in Auto Accident
In a remarkable act of bravery, young Vaibhavi saved her mother after she was hit by an auto-rickshaw while crossing a road in Kinnigoli. Thinking quickly, Vaibhavi, a 7th-grade student, immediately rushed to her injured mother and pulled her to safety.
Recognizing her courage, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal invited Vaibhavi and her father to his office on September 10 to honor her. During the ceremony, the commissioner presented Vaibhavi with a shawl and garland, praising her swift action and presence of mind. He highlighted her act as an inspiring example for others and emphasized the importance of fostering such alertness and bravery in children.
The event was graced by senior police officials, including DCPs Siddarth Goyal and Dinesh Kumar BP, ACP (Traffic) Najma Farooqi, and police inspectors Mohammed Shareef and Hulugappa.
Meanwhile, Vaibhavi’s mother, Chethana (35), a resident of Rajaratnapura, is currently recovering from her injuries at Suratkal hospital. The community and police have lauded Vaibhavi’s courage, and her quick-thinking actions continue to inspire many.
