In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police detained two youths accused of distributing banned narcotics, including hydro weed ganja and charas, to students and the public in Mangaluru.

The arrested suspects were identified as Taisir Ismail Hussain (23) from Subhash Nagar, Pandeshwar, and Royston Xavier Lobo (22) from Bantwal, currently residing in Shivabagh, Mangaluru. Acting on intelligence, CCB officials raided 5th Cross Road, Shivabagh, and apprehended the duo in possession of contraband.

Police confiscated hydro weed ganja, charas, and regular ganja worth ₹8 lakh, alongside two mobile phones. The total value of the seized materials is estimated at ₹9 lakh. Investigations revealed that the accused sourced the drugs from Bengaluru and were selling them locally to fund a luxurious lifestyle. A case has been registered at Mangaluru East Police Station.

The raid was executed under the leadership of Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal IPS, with DCPs Siddharth Goyal IPS (Law & Order) and K Ravishankar KSPS (Crime & Traffic) overseeing the operation. CCB ACP Manoj Kumar Nayak spearheaded the team, including Inspector Rafiq K M, PSI Narendra, ASIs Ram Poojary, Sheenappa, Sujan Shetty, and other personnel.

Authorities have intensified efforts to curb narcotics trade and have urged the public to report any suspicious activity.
