Sullia: Media is a mirror to all the changes in the world: Bhagirathi Murulya Begins Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Working Journalists Association Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya said that the media, which is a mirror to all the happenings and all the changes in the world, gives information, knowledge and happiness. She was speaking after inaugurating the silver jubilee celebrations of Sullia Taluk Working Journalists Association at Bantara Bhavan in Sullia, Kerpala.

It is a matter of great happiness that the Working Journalists Association is celebrating the silver jubilee. She said that journalists should share ideas for the development of the Taluk and the cooperation of journalists is required for the overall development.

Dr R.K. Nair, the Green Hero of India, who was the chief guest, said, “The development of the country should start from villages. When all the basic developments like roads, electricity, development of schools are done, villages will move forward in the direction of development.

He said that village development is possible and that leads to the development of the state and the country. Evolution means that it has to be seen and experienced by people. He said that development should take place by conserving nature.

Seetharama Rai Savanur, convenor of Savanur Vidyarashmi Vidyalaya, who was the chief guest, said that the journalist thereby supplementing the review of all the functions of the Association celebrated 25 years of its existence. He said journalists should work for the betterment of society. The newspapers should review all issues, including the work of governments.

Press Club President Harish Bantawala spoke on the occasion. Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalist’s Association President Srinivas Nayak Indaje spoke about the health cards issued to journalists by KMC Hospital.
MLA Bhagirathi Murulya distributed the health card. Sullia Taluk Working Journalists Association’s Silver Jubilee Committee President Gangadharmatti presided over the function. District Working Journalist’s Association Secretary Gangadhar Kallapalli and Sullia Taluk Working Journalist’s Association Secretary Shivaprasad Kerpala were present.

Senior journalist J.K. Rai welcomed the gathering and Silver Jubilee Committee General Secretary Durgakumar Nairkere delivered the introductory address. Sullia Taluk Working Journalist’s Association President Dayananda Korathodi proposed vote of thanks. Lokesh Perlampady compered the programme.
