BELAGAVI: APMC police in Belagavi have filed an FIR against Babijan Saddam Hussain Sayyed from Bailhongal town for abandoning her newborn baby at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS).
Police reports reveal that Babijan was admitted to BIMS on December 8, where she gave birth to a baby girl. Shockingly, shortly after delivery, she left the hospital without notifying the staff, leaving the infant behind. Tragically, the baby fell ill and succumbed to her condition while under medical care.
The incident prompted the APMC police to register a case, with investigations currently underway. Authorities are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the abandonment and subsequent death.
This heartbreaking case highlights the need for increased awareness and support for maternal and child welfare, as well as strict measures to prevent such incidents.
