3-year-old dies after falling into boiling hot sambar

Mysuru: A three-year-old boy died after accidently falling into boiling sambar in a hotel at Vijayanagar on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Harsha, son of Mahadevacharya and Kavitha, residents of Kumbarakoppal. With no one to look after the kid at home, Kavita who is employed at VB hotel at Vijayanagar took Harsha along with her to work. When Kavita was busy with her work, Harsha who went near boiling hot sambar, tried to pull the vessel containing it and fell into it. Though the hotel staff lifted him out and rushed him to a nearby hospital, Harsha who had suffered more than 95 percent burn injuries, succumbed.

Parents along with the localites urged the hotel owner to provide compensation. Later Pradeep, owner of the hotel assured to pay Rs 2 Lakh as compensation to the family members. As an immediate relief he gave Rs 10,000 to the bereaved family members to conduct the final rites. Vijaynagar Police have registered a case.
