Mysuru: The Mysore fashion week season is back and the second edition of the extravagant event will be held on September 4, 5 and 6, informed the organizers at a press release on Wednesday July 22.
Addressing the media persons they said, top designers from Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Mysuru including Jayanthi will be presenting their wares at the Jayanthi hosted Mysore fashion week season 2. Mysore fashion Week season 1 received great response from Mysoreans and across India where several local and national designers like Robert Naorem, Aslam Khan, Nick Roshan, Rocky, and Anil Hosmani were a part of it. Celebrities like Gauhar Khan, Nidhi Subbaiah, Priyamani, Bhavana Rao and Ragini were the showstoppers in the season one.
As promised, this edition will have more glamour as Kannada Actor J Karthik has been rolled in for the event. He will officially be the Face of the Mysore fashion Week season 2.
Speaking to media persons Karthik said, “Mysuru is known for culture and heritage but events like Mysore fashion Week will place fashion track. I had missed the chance of being a part of Mysore fashion Week season 1 because of my involvement in KPL but this time I am excited to be a part of season 2”
Bengaluru is always one step ahead of Mysuru in fashion but Jayanthi Ballal is taking Mysuru and fashion to the next level with her initiation and giving a new dimension to the culture of the city and to the fashion industry” he added.
Speaking about the response during the previous season, Jayanthi Ballal said, “5000 people attended the Mysore fashion week season 1 and it was a profligate event but I need a local designer to be a part of season 2”.
“This time more than 15 designers are showcasing their collections and I am looking for 3 local designers to come forward and be a part of the event. A foreign designer from Hong Kong is expected this season. The celebrities for Mysore fashion week season 2 are yet to shortlisted and we are trying to get well known celebrities this year like season 1” she added
