Mysuru: Former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani inaugurated the 3D-mapping projection of the 45 ft tall Karya Siddi Hanuman statue at Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashram premises here on December 1.

Speaking after inaugurating the 3D projection Advani said, “Hinduism is an all embracing religion that always recognizes the right of anyone to practice a religion and worship their gods in their own way. I can confidently say that no other religion on the planet reciprocates this, that is why we should all be proud to be Hindus.”

Expressing his pride in the youth, he said that this unique monument of Lord Hanuman is an example of how the younger generation can use technology to define the image of God nd takes the spirit of Hinduism further.

Advani was in Mysuru along with his wife and daughter.

What is projection mapping

It is a skilled and sophisticated technology where a physical immovable object (like the 45ft Hanuman Statue) is studied in great depth and every contour is understood from a visual perspective. By creating the exact 3 dimensional image on a computer and matching its image on a projector screen, the light is scattered on the surface of the object.

The worship played through the state of art technology included Abhisheka, Deepalankara, Tulsi and Swarnabhisheka for over eight minutes. This apart, scenes from the burning of Ravana Lanka and the war between Rama and Ravana were depicted where Ganapanthy Swamiji is seen standing at the feet of Hanuman.
