Car runs into Kabini canal landing two students in watery grave

Mysuru: Two engineering students drowned, while one was severely injured after the car in which they were travelling fell into Kabini canal between Navilur and Aldur on T Narasipur-Ummathur road near Chamarajanagar here on Thursday.

One killed, three injured in road accident-1The deceased, both from Mysuru have been identified as Karthik, a resident of Chamundi Hill and N.H. Darshan, a resident of Tilaknagar. The injured student Darshan, resident of Vijayanagar who was driving car has been admitted to T. Narasipur General Hospital. The trio was final year engineering students of Ekalavya Institute of Technology at Ummathur in Chamarajanagar.

The incident occurred when the students, after finishing vacation were on their way back to the college from Mysuru in a car. Darshan who was driving the car lost control over the vehicle thus landing the car in Kabini canal.

Chamarajanagar ASP Muthuraj M. Gowda, DySP Gangadhar Swamy and Tahasildar Purandara visited the spot. Kudru Police have registered a case and are investigating.
