Chamarajanagara: 4 elephants sent to Madhya Pradesh

Chamarajanagara: The Forest Officials on Saturday December 3 sent four elephants from Ramapura Camp under Bandipur Tiger Reserve (BTR) in Gundlupete Taluk of the District to Madhya Pradesh on the orders of the State Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden.

The 4 elephants named Krishna, Gaja, Marshiha and Pooja from Ramapur Forest Camp have been dispatched. Earlier, it was planned to send 5  elephants to Satpur Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.

However, Ganesha  elephant died due to illness and now a total of 4 elephants including two males and two females have been sent. Another elephant Nisarga was also shipped to Madhya Pradesh last month. Four elephants left from Ramapura Elephant  Camp were checked by veterinary officers and  were confirmed to be healthy. The elephants were officially handed over to Ashish Kobragade, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
