Chamarajanagara: 5016 cattle infected with cutaneous disease

Chamarajanagara: So far, 5016 cows have been diagnosed with Skin Nodule Disease or Cutaneous in Chamarajanagara District and 3,470 cattle have been cured.

As many as 1365 cows are being treated. So far, 181 cows have died due to the disease in the District. The disease has been reported in 313 villages in the District, of which Hanur and Gundlupet Taluks have reported the highest number of cases.

A total of 2972 cases were reported from 52 villages in Gundlupet Taluk. Of these, 2193 cows have been cured and 713 are being treated. In this taluk, 66 cows have died due to the disease.

Similarly, 1317 cases have been reported from 184 villages in Hanur Taluk. Of these, 693 cows have been cured. Treatment of 535 cows is continuing. As many as 89 cattle have died.

Veterinary officials said that due to the increase in the incidence of the disease in Ramanagara and Kanakapura areas, the owners of the cattle left them on the edge of Mahadeshwara Hills Forest, which led to the spread of the disease to the cattle in Hanur area.
