Chamarajanagara: A Gujarat-based businessman has made a serious allegation against Chamarajanagar MLA C. Puttarangshetty that he has threatened to buy a stone quarry threatening him and now also threatening to kill him.

Speaking to mediapersons, Gujarat-based Entrepreneur Kamalesh Kumar Patel said that he owns a four-acre stone quarry at Terkanambi in Gundlupet Taluk. When he went to MLA C. Puttarangashetty he suggested that the businessman should sell the quarry as it is difficult for him to operate it from Gujarat. He said MLA Shetty bought the quarry for Rs. 14 Crore. He alleged that Shetty promised to register the land in his name within the next 6 months but failed to register.

He alleged that Shetty made a payment of Rs 3.5 Crore and the remaining Rs. 10.5 Crore is pending. When he demanded to make payment, Shetty’s son-in-law Ramachandra and his partner posed threat to life. He said he has filed a complaint with Chamarajanagara Police but they refused to register a case against MLA saying Assembly Speaker’s permission is required.

He alleged that when he pressurised for money MLAs son-in-law Ramachandra filed a false complaint. He alleged that MLA Puttarangashetty is threatening him using his power and men and urged for protection from influential MLA.

When contacted MLA P. R. Shetty said that Kamalesh Tiwari did not have the khata of the quarry, and if he makes khata for the quarry he would give the remaining balance to him.
