Chamarajanagara: During the holy festival of Dasara, it is a tradition for Hindus to worship weapons. In Martalli Village of Hanur Taluk of the Chamarajanagara District, the Christian community also drew ttention of people by celebrating Ayudha Pooja in Our Lady of Lourdes Church here.
The pastors of the Church, Christopher Sagayraj and Susai Regis, prayed and sprinkled the holy water on the vehicles and prayed to Jesus to save them from accidents.
Speaking to mediapersons, Pastor John Britto said that their ancestors were Hindus in the past and were performing Ayudha Pooja. Therefore they see to it that the tradition not left behind.
He added that people from all the communities participated in the celebration.
