Chamarajanagara: Farmer injured by tusker attack in District

Chamarajanagara: In a tragic incident, a farmer was severely injured after tusker attacked him in a farmer’s field in Bettadamadahalli Village in Gundlupete Buffer Zone of Bandipur Sanctuary of the District.

Devarajappa, a farmer from Bettadamadahalli Village, was working on his farm when a lone tusker attacked him. The farmer sustained serious injuries on his back and has been shifted to JSS Hospital in Mysuru.

The tusker had entered banana, beans and other plantations in the fields of farmers in Bettadamadahalli limits and trampled on wire fencing installed in several fields. Forest Department Officials and staff are camping at the spot after the lone tusker was found in a banana plantation.
