Chamarajanagara: The residents of Gopinatham Village are all set install a bust of Forest Officer late P. Srinivas, who was killed by forest brigand Veerappan.
Though Gopinatham was Veerappan’s native, the officer was immensely loved by the villagers for his support and affection towards them.
He was humane and worked towards bettering lives of locals.
The Forest department officials collected funds and have given a metal bust of Srinivas to the villagers as per their request. The bust has been kept at the Mariamma Temple constructed by Srinivas, and it will be soon installed with mantap erected at the temple. A picture of Srinivas already adorns the Temple.
