Chamarajanagara: More than 100 students gathered in front of the bus stand on the Gundlupete-Kerala Highway at Kootanur Village in the Taluk and stopped the buses plying on this route and protested against the Depot Manager and demanded a separate bus facility.

Speaking on the occasion, the students said that even though more than 100 people were going from Kootanur Village to schools and colleges, there was no separate bus facility. The Depot Managers have already been requested several times in this regard. However, no action has been taken, he said. “Since there is no separate bus, we have to depend on a bus coming through Berambadi. The bus also leaves without stopping near Kootanur as it is loaded with a large number of passengers in the morning. Due to this, we are not able to go to classes on time. In addition, they have to resort to private autos.
Apart from the students, even the villagers are not able to go to work as without a bus on time. Therefore, they demanded that a separate bus be given to Kootanur village.

Gundlupete Depot Officials reached the protest site and accepted the request.
