Chamarajanagara: The City’s child-friendly and First Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced six accused in the case of blackmailing, abducting and raping a minor girl to 10 years rigorous imprisonment under the POCSO Act.
Mohammad Meenaz Khan (24), a resident of Christian Colony in the city was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment under Section 6 of the POCSO Act after he was found guilty of rape. The other accused have been identified as Salman Khan (24) of Mohalla, Shahrukh Khan (22) of Mandya City, Waheed Ahmed (18) of Bommanahalli in Bengaluru and Mohammed Ameer (24) of V. V. area of Mandya, Mustaqeem Khan (28), a resident of Christian Colony in the City and Syed Umar (29), a resident of Shanti Nagar in Mysuru.
They have been sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment each under Section 17 of the POCSO Act for aiding and abetting the case.
