Chamarajanagara: The Male Mahadeshwar Hill Temple counter staff mistakenly gave Rs. 2.91 lakh cash bag instead of Prasadam reportedly on Thursday July 28.

It is said that the temple witnessed heavy rush of devotees on Thursday as it was Bheemana Amavasya day. The counter staff while issuing special darshan ticket of Rs. 500 handed over the bag containing Rs. 2.91 lakh mistakenly instead of handing over Prasadam.

In the afternoon, as the money was not visible, the staff informed the Male Mahadeswaraswamy Temple Development Authority officials about the matter. When the CCTV camera footage was checked, it was found that a devotee had been given a bag containing money along with Laddu Prasad.

The authority has instructed staff to remit Rs. 2.91 lakh to the temple soon.
