Nursing student in Chamarajanagara alleges of sexual harassment

Chamarajanagara: A nursing student at Chamarajanagara Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) has alleged that she was sexually harassed by Department of Opthalmology Head.

The nursing student who has joined for a short term course through an NGO has lodged a complaint with the college Dean and District Surgeon on Wednesday December 29.

In the complaint, she has alleged that Dr. Maheshwar  has allegedly misbehaved with her in training institute when she was alone. Soon she raised an alarm, and her batchmates rushed in and rescued her. She said that the batchmates even hit the senior doctor for misbehaving.

CIMS Dean Dr. Sanjeev confirmed about the complaint and said a committee has been formed to conduct probe into the incident. He said he has even asked police to help in probe and disciplinary action would be intiated if found guilty.
