Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured to solve long pending issues of Falcon Tyre employees here on Saturday, October 22.
The employees met CM at his residence in TK layout and submitted memorandum to take action against the management of Falcon Tyre, who has not paid them salary for nearly two years. Soon after receiving memorandum, Siddaramaiah spoke to industries minister R V Deshpande over phone and instructed him to arrange meeting with the management and set right the issues of nearly 2000 employees. He also assured the employees that if he is free he will try to attend the meeting with the management.
It may be recalled that on Thursday, Kiran Raj Urs, an employee of Falcon Tyre attempted suicide at factory premise condemning the factory management for not paying salary for the last two years. Due to non-payment of salary, he was unable to pay rent and look after his family.
For the past two years, due to non-payment of salary from the Falcon Tyre management, Kiran withdrew his Provident Fund and other savings and managed to run his family but after all those money got over for the past ten months it has become difficult for him to run his family. On Thursday, after the night shift, near corporate office at around 7.30am he consumed poison.
The employees even submitted memorandum to Deputy Commissioner D Randeep seeking permission for euthanasia. Due to lack of salary, many of the employee’s family have broken and many have become sick.
In the last two years, eight employees have attempted suicide and two of them have died in the bid.
